Teddy Roosevelt is the only President of the United States to be awarded the Metal of Honor (it was posthumously awarded to him in 2001).

Teddy Roosevelt was the first president to win the Nobel Peace Prize. It was awarded to him for the Russo-Japanese Treaty.

His wife and mother died in the same house on the same day just hours apart from two different diseases. His mother died of Typhoid and his wife died of Bright's Disease.
